Impact Driver vs Impact Wrench: DEVON 5768, 5767 and 5766 Explained

Impact drivers (衝擊批) and impact wrenches (風炮) both use a hammering mechanism that adds bursts of rotational force. That is why they drive long screws and loosen tight bolts that would twist a normal drill out of your hand. The difference is what they hold and how much force they deliver.

The key difference

• Impact driver: a 1/4in hex chuck for screwdriver bits. Built for screws, from small machine screws to self-drilling roofing screws.
• Impact wrench: a 1/2in square drive for sockets. Built for nuts and bolts, such as wheel nuts, machinery bolts and formwork.

DEVON 大有 5768-Li-20: 20V impact driver

The 5768 has a brushless motor with 150Nm of torque and a short 89mm head for corners.

• Low mode for M3 and smaller screws, medium for self-tapping screws, high for expansion bolts
• Auto-stop mode for self-drilling screws into roofing sheet and steel tube: it stops once the screw is tight so the washer is not crushed
• 0.78kg without battery

DEVON 大有 5767-Li-12Q: 12V impact driver kit

The 5767 is smaller, with a 120mm body and 140Nm of torque, and comes as a complete kit with two 2.0Ah batteries, a charger and a tool box. A good choice for home use, furniture assembly and car repairs if you don't own other DEVON 大有 20V tools.

DEVON 大有 5766-Li-20: 20V impact wrench

The 5766 delivers 550Nm of fastening torque and 850Nm of breakaway torque through a 1/2in drive, for M10–M22 bolts.

• Compact 124mm head, 1.2kg without battery
